David Kops

David Kops is a composer and producer based in Amsterdam (NL) and Thailand.

Raised in a musical family, he developed his love for music in his early childhood, playing drums, piano, guitar and violin. David has expressed this in a wide range of musical activities, from performing 30s jazz music to Greek traditional music to pop artists and bands, writing music with young r&b and hiphop talents, musical programming for the KOHA Festival in Amsterdam, and composing and producing film music for various film projects throughout the years. David also composed the soundtrack for Tianyu Jiang’s film Sealed Off that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in June 2023.

Academic accolades include a thesis prize for exploring pseudo-Arabic inscriptions in Western art. Fluent in Arabic, Greek, and multiple scripts, ongoing studies in Mandarin and Thai. Diverse academic and musical pursuits define David’s unique career.
